Synposis

The Construction and Maintenance (309A) electrical apprenticeship is 9000 hours of on-the-job training which breaks down into five terms of 1800 hours each.

Description

There are Four terms of trade school that must be completed during the course of this electrical apprenticeship – They are all nine week terms. The hours spent in trade school count as hours towards the apprenticeship. We recommend completing trade school as the below schedule: Level 1 during the 2nd term of your apprenticeship Level 2 during the 3rd term of your apprenticeship Level 3 during the 4th term of your apprenticeship Level 4 during the 5th term of your apprenticeship Upon completion of the 9000 hours and all four terms of school have been completed, an apprentice must pass a final exam with a mark of at least 70% to obtain a Certificate of Qualification and become a licensed 309A electrician. Prerequisites to begin an apprenticeship with the IBEW Local 804 includes Grade 12 math and English.
